The world has been facing a health crisis since the onset of Covid-pandemic. The Right to Health of millions is at stake! Diseases and disasters cause more death and disabilities. As we call it, the era of kaliyuga seems to have its said-effects on the lives of so many!

Health Day 2024, scheduled on 7th April, has a new vision this time! By focusing on the stance of “Right to Health”, it shifts public attention to different areas which need to be worked upon. How the burning of fossils takes away our right to breathe clean air, how the pollution affects our right to live a healthy life, and how the ruthless public behaviour claims a life every 5 seconds! The WHO Council on the Economics of Health for All has found 140 nations having health as a fundamental right.

Yet countries are not passing and putting into practice laws to ensure their populations are entitled to access health services. This underlines the fact that at least 4.5 billion people, more than half of the world’s population, were not fully covered by essential health services in 2021. To address these types of challenges, the theme for World Health Day 2024 is ‘My health, my right’.

This year, the WHO wishes to shed some light on the importance of how rightfully one should claim his health first! The council wishes to shake up the economies by working on sectors which directly affect human health. The theme, “My Health, My Right” is surely going to stir many individuals and organisations to take some stern measures for the overall well-being of the society. Suvikas shows its full support to the WHO in fulfilling its goal of establishing a “Right to Health” motto globally!
